The Lizard King Makes a Triumphant Return!

You might say I’m getting ahead of myself, when all we’ve seen thus far is a Teaser Trailer, but what we have seen looks fantastic!

One way or the other Godzilla is coming in May!

It seems from this teaser trailer which was released last fall that the filmmakers for the new Godzilla 2014 have done everything right!

We love big monsters here at Mordor, especially giant ones that could be used to terrible effect!

The teaser trailer itself is well conceived and the use of the music from the soundtrack of 2001: A Space Odyssey was a brilliant move. The image of the diving paratroopers with voice over by veteran actor David Strathairn is wonderfully epic. Shots of mayhem and destruction intercut with shots of an incredibly talented cast with a final sneak peek of the monster at the end is a teaser to be remembered. We see just enough, but not too much!

The folks at Warner Bros., Legendary Pictures and director Gareth Edwards seem to be doing everything right. Unlike the much maligned 1998 version of Godzilla, they are staying true to the original vision of the monster. From the ‘man in a suit’ shape to the iconic scream of rage, this Gozilla seems to be using todays technology to update rather then recreate the iconic Kaiju Monster. This, in combination with a great cast that includes none other than Bryan Cranston himself… what’s not to like!

Of course in the end, it all comes down to story. If screenwriter Frank Darabont can pull off the kind of miracle he did with The Walking Dead, then this is sure to be a ‘Monster’ hit!

On the heals of last years successful Kaiju film Pacific Rim directed by Guillermo del Toro, the world seems ready for the return of the Big Lizard Monster that started it all. Godzilla!

Godzilla opens May 16, 2014 in 3D starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Ken Watanabe, Elizabeth Olsen Juliette Binoche, David Strathairn and Bryan Cranston. The screenplay is by Max Borenstein, Frank Darabont, and Dave Callaham.

An epic rebirth to Toho’s iconic Godzilla, this spectacular adventure, from Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures, pits the world’s most famous monster against malevolent creatures who, bolstered by humanity’s scientific arrogance, threaten our very existence.

This film looks like it will be epic fun… Watch the trailer below!
