ShadowWarIcon1Unleash the Orcs of War!

With our own Orc Wars set to begin soon, we couldn’t ask for a better bit of news to hit the web like this ‘not so unexpected news’ about the premiere of Middle-earth: Shadow of War!

Here is everything we know about the game… including the TRAILER!

It appears the Oscar Ceremony didn’t have the only big ass snafu yesterday, as we learned about the unintended release on Targets website of the sequel to 2014s massive hit Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor, which took the gaming world by storm!

Over the last year we’ve kept our eye open for any news at all about an upcoming sequel to Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor, considering it’s been about three years since its release. Warner Bros. has been ‘Hush, Hush’ about a sequel and nothing but rumors have surfaced.

Photo Courtesy of WB Games UKFirst there was a lot of talk about Shadow of Mordor 2 being announced at E3, the big gaming convention in both 2015 and 2016, but the game sequel was a no show!

Then in March of last year, news of a possible announcement trailer spread across the web like a wild fire when a stunt woman named Lauren Mary Kim, known for performance capture in games listed Shadow of Mordor 2 on her website. However, no further word or announcement trailer was forthcoming and we don’t know at this point if that was a red-herring or if she really did have something to do with the game. I expect we will find out soon!

The Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor site has been dormant for a long while, with the only news in the last year being the premiere of a trailer for the PS4 Pro version of the game, which was announced in early November of last year.. Watch the trailer HERE

SaveDateMarch8However soon after that, we began to notice updates on the Shadow of Mordor Facebook showing concept art for the game that had not been previously released. Go HERE to see a cool image of the Black Gate and HERE showing a very heroic Talion fighting one of the Nazgûl!

Then in early February WB Games France released a mysterious digital placard on Twitter claiming the premiere of something wonderful on March 8… ‘Save The Date’ was the tagline. Go HERE to see our posting. There was a lot of discussion online, some thinking this alluded to a release of the next Batman entry in the game franchise, saying the WB Games Logo has imagery taken from the Batman games, while others felt that the color and texture of the digital teaser was more inline with a Shadow of Mordor 2 announcement. However, WB  Games released no further information either overseas or here in the US.

Then yesterday Target dropped the Middle-Earth: Shadow of War bomb on the unsuspecting internet!

OK… is it me or does that not look like the Dark Tower of Mordor with an all seeing Eye? Coincidence… I think not! Check out our funny post on this image HERE

So yesterday during all the hullabaloo over the Oscars, this bit of news hit the web! It looks like Target mistakenly posted it’s box art for the game along with info about gameplay.

It appears that in Shadow of War Celebrimbor enters Mount Doom and in the fires of Sammath Naur forges a new Ring of Power that is picked up by Talion! OMG! OK… this does play fast and loose with the Tolkien Canon, but I suppose such an event could have occurred, as long as it doesn’t change the course of history as we know it from the books. There is no doubt this will indeed extend Tolkien’s Legandarium into untold new areas.

Here is the  synopsis of the game.

“In Middle-earth: Shadow of War, players wield a new Ring of Power and confront the deadliest of enemies, including Sauron and his Nazgûl, in a monumental battle for Middle-earth. The open-world RPG is brought to life through the expansion of the award-winning Nemesis System. The robust personalization from the first game is now applied to the entire world where the environments and characters are all shaped by player actions and decisions, creating a personal world unique to every gameplay experience.”

Well… now the cat is out of the bag and WB Games and Monolith Productions have just released a brand spanking new Trailer that will knock your fucking sox off! It is absolutely gorgeous and takes the game to spectacular new heights! I won’t give anything away, but will let you watch it right here and now!

The  trailer states there will be a Game Play reveal on March 8th… and the Game will be released on August 22!
