All the Orcs of Moria, Mount Gundabad and the Goblins of the Misty Mountains have gathered to witness these battles under the Thunderdome, as 16 of the deadliest orcs in the Black Pit go under the Iron Dome in a fight to the death! The Thunderdome was forged in the ancient smithies of the Dwarves and was lit by the fires of Udûn. The giant dome was erected under the massive columns found in the ancient halls of Dwarrowdelf by a hundreds of Goblins in the eternal darkness of Khazad-dûm.

Brazen horns are blown. Drums roll in the deep. The raucous cries of countless orcs, echo throughout the ancient stone halls… and the Balrog sits upon his throne high atop the dwarven halls and looks down upon the Minions of Moria. Suddenly a great red flash of fire erupts under the mountain, as the Balrog spreads his wings… The signal has been sent!

Let the Games begin!

Azog, Bolg, and the Great Goblin all in the same bracket….to coin a soccer phrase, this is like the group of death. LOL

  • CT

And that Tark-Skum is one nasty-looking orc……I remember him from BOTFA. I love those glowing or translucent eyes, very creepy!

  • Grievous1138

Azog and Morluk, all the way!

  • Roberto Took

If Slag-luk were with anyone other than Azog, I’d vote for him. Even with Bolg.

  • CT

The way this bracket is lining up both Azog and Bolg should make it to the Elite 8, with the victor of those two winning the bracket and heading into the Final Four……my money’s on the Pale Orc.

  • Roberto Took

Seems Tark-skum and Great Goblin may be matched up with them.

  • Roberto Took

Also this is an amazing idea RL! There’s so much activity and many awesome looking orcs. Almost as strange a bunch as this year’s presidential candidates.

  • CT

Azog will face the Great Goblin next, and Tark-Skum right after that. I don’t think the Great Goblin has chance unless he can somehow smother Azog to death with his fat…….I think Tark-Skum will be more of a challenge.

  • CT

Agreed, RL really hit the jackpot with this idea. And no doubt he put a ton of time and effort into this tournament.

  • CT

I don’t recall ever seeing Slag-Luk in the movies……but he certainly is a nasty looking dude.

  • Thanks Roberto! Glad you all are enjoying it!

  • I hit on the idea for the orc cards when I posted about the Decipher Cards last week. It was a lot of work putting it together, but since so many of the orcs don’t have names, I had to figure out some way to put the names to the faces.

  • Grievous1138

Hold on a minute. Slag-luk’s profile image is that of a Half-Troll of Far Harad….

  • Grievous1138

RingLord, you should try to make an interactive map of Moria. There are never any decent Moria maps….

  • CT

Thanks for doing this RL. I can only imagine how much time and effort you put into it,……….and I can only imagine some of the English names you put into that Black Speech app…….LOL

  • Roberto Took

I think he may actually be one of the troll-men of Harad in the movies, riding an oliphaunt.
Still, works as an orc though!

  • Roberto Took

Thats a cool idea. The LOTRO (lord of the rings online) game has an extensive Moria zone that you can see on
    http://dynmap.ruslotro.com/#Moria
I don’t think some of the places are canon, but I loved the area when I visited in-game. A Land of Shadow would be awesome too, with pop-up info and pics like the Mordor map.
One of my ideas is a map of middle earth with only places of evil named, which could link to their respective Dark Domains pages!

  • Grievous1138

That one isn’t actually all that canon, especially considering that Zirakzigil is in the wrong place.

  • CT

Well he’s certainly got the ugly factor working for him.

  • CT

He could be the product of an inter-species relationship…..

  • CT

I could be wrong, but it sure looks like Sideshow/Weta based their Moria Orc Warrior statue on Rog-Lug.
