The folks at WB Games and Monolith Productions have just released Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor ~ Game of the Year Edition for PlayStation 4 Pro
Return to Shadow of Mordor… one last time.
When a game is over two years old developer usually release and upgrade patch for a new games system on their website without much fanfair… but Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor is not you average game.
The folks at Monolith Productions have not only released this new version of the game, but have done so on both Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor and Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor Game of the Year Edition! And to top it off they have included a minute and thirty second trailer to announce it.
They also have announced that the patch will be free for both Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor and Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor Game of the Year Edition!
The game may have launched back in 2014, but it received critical-acclaim not only from hard-core gamers, but also from fans of Middle-earth, who lauded the creators for adhering to as much of the Tolkien Canon as possible while still deliver exciting gameplay. The game’s innovative Nemesis System allows the player to form relationships with individual orcs and create rivalries among the uruk groups. Also the development of the narrative of Talion, becoming part of the wraith figure of Celebrimbor was brilliant and made the idea of his character regeneration as a wraith a believable part of the game within the world of Middle-earth.
Over the last several months there has been a resurgence in promotion by Monolith for Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor after a long period of almost nothing. I’m hopping this signal a coming announcement about Shadow of Mordor 2. Earlier in the year their was a flurry of news posting about a possible announcement and new trailer coming, which you can read about HERE, however it did not surface as anything more then a rumor. I personally believe that the untimely passing of Monolith Production’s Michael Forgey who was heavily involved in the creation of this game put a hold on the teams progress and they all needed a break. Now, however it looks like we may see something coming soon!
